In the pre-CRISPR days, on an average, it would be 18 months to forever (in those cases where we could never get germline transmission or even get ESL targeting using the old way). Now, I think we have a record of two-and-half months from conception to generation of a genotype-positive founder mouse. That's pretty remarkable!
