Protein analysis of CRISPR mediated gene editing is an important method for validating a functional gene knockout. Choosing an appropriate protein analysis assay and using the right controls, is the key to functionally confirm a CRISPR knockout. Here we review four techniques commonly used for protein analysis: Western blot, flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, and ELISA that can be used to confirm functional gene knockout in CRISPR edited cells.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • Basics of CRISPR gene knockout machinery and editing outcomes
  • Importance of knockout validation using genotypic and protein analysis
  • Tools and Timing for protein analysis of knockouts
  • Importance of appropriate controls and considerations of choosing the right assay
  • Four different assays commonly used for protein analysis of knockouts
